The Burj Khalifa, the top of the world, is a breathtaking architectural wonder and a manifestation of the perfect combination of mechanical research and architectural structure.
As the tallest tower in the world, the Burj Khalifa dominates the crowd with a height of 828 meters, firmly ranking as the tallest building and artificial structure among the world's tallest buildings.
Burj Khalifa, formerly known as Burj Khalifa, or Dubai Tower or Burj Khalifa, is the world's tallest building and artificial structure. The Burj Khalifa is 828 meters tall, has 162 floors, and has a construction cost of US$1.5 billion.
The Burj Khalifa uses 330,000 cubic meters of concrete and 142,000 square meters of glass. To build the Burj Khalifa, about 4,000 workers and 100 cranes were used to pump concrete vertically over 606 meters, breaking the 492-meter record during the construction of the Shanghai World Financial Center.
There are 56 lifts in the building with a maximum speed of 17.4 meters per second. There is also a double-decker sightseeing lift that can carry up to 42 people at a time.
This 828-meter-high building has 160 floors, each with different functions.
The At The Top observation deck on the 124th and 125th floors and the At The Top SKY observation deck on the 148th floor are the most well-known to the public. The Burj Khalifa is a symbol of cultural and aesthetic alliances around the world, and, according to Mr Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Emaar, it is the Arab world’s tribute to the art and science of modern engineering.
The Burj Khalifa has a unique shape. Faced with such a vast and complicated project, it took six years to polish it. The construction speed is fantastic.
From the design concept to the start of construction, the entire construction process of the Burj Khalifa is complete with unknown creative ingenuity. The Burj Khalifa was designed by the world-renowned architectural design firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM).
The creativity of the building comes from the spider orchid (Hymenocallis) known as the "Desert Flower", and its design reflects the butterfly. The elegant and well-proportioned structure of the orchid was this exotic flower that inspired architect Adrian Smith to envision this iconic tower in Dubai.
To provide the world's tallest building with a 360° broad view, the designer devised an ingenious way to make the floor into a "Y" shape based on the shape of the Phalaenopsis, and the three building parts are gradually connected into one core body. For generally geometric skyscrapers, there are always blind spots in the internal view.
However, through such a transformation, the three wings rise spirally, significantly reducing the cross-section of the building, making it more straight to the sky, to the top, and in the centre. The core gradually transforms into a spire, perfectly breaking through the limitations of the field of vision.
The foundation of the building is excellent, consisting of 125 piles with a diameter of 1.5 meters and a length of 50 meters, and includes 45,000 cubic meters of reinforced concrete. The three wings evolved from flower petals, each supported by a concrete core and a core surrounding the core.
This process also quickly solves the vast wind challenge at high altitudes. The Y-shaped plan of the Burj Khalifa allows the building to rotate 120 degrees, and each floor has a different width, helping to reduce the wind on the tower. , enhancing the torsion resistance of the Burj Khalifa.
The 160-story Burj Khalifa has different functional areas on each floor. It is a truly mixed-use building, including 170,000 square meters of residential space and 27,800 square meters of office space, which can accommodate up to 35, including 000 people, equivalent to a small town's population.
The Burj Khalifa can be said to be a miracle in the history of human architecture. Not only does it have the reputation of being the tallest building in the world, but it also has rich, innovative significance in other places and has set multiple world records.
The Burj Khalifa is also home to 85 artists worldwide who have had their works commissioned. The artwork varies from impressionistic to abstract, but all reflect Arab culture.
The world is far more extensive than people imagine. Humans are giving full play to their wisdom to make the world more beautiful. The Burj Khalifa is the best proof.
