The lighthouse is open to the public from 10 AM to 5 PM daily, with extended hours during the summer months. Admission is a bargain at just $12 per person, which includes access to the museum and a chance to climb to the top for panoramic views of the coastline.

We climbed the 137 steps to the lantern room, and the sight was worth every step! Standing atop the lighthouse, we could see the endless ocean stretching out before us, and the picturesque coastline dotted with colorful beach umbrellas. Don’t forget your camera; the photo ops are endless!

After soaking in the views, we took a leisurely stroll around the nearby Montauk Point State Park. For a cozy stay, we found the Montauk Manor , a charming hotel just a short drive from the lighthouse. The rates start around $200 per night, and the hotel offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape, making it an excellent choice for a romantic getaway or family trip. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with kitchenettes available for those who prefer to prepare their own meals.

After a day of exploring, we enjoyed unwinding at the hotel’s outdoor pool and soaking up the sun.

No trip to Montauk is complete without indulging in some local cuisine. We stopped by The Lobster Roll for a quintessential taste of New England. The lobster roll here is a must-try, packed with fresh lobster meat and served with a side of crispy fries—all for about $25. We also couldn’t resist the clam chowder, a steal at $8 per bowl.

For a more casual dining experience, we checked out Sam’s Restaurant , famous for its fresh seafood and lively atmosphere. We tried the fish tacos, which were flavorful and filling for around $15. The beachfront location made it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal while watching the waves.
